Finalists for the Ford Ka Original Mix competition kicked off in fine style last night with Big Ted from Kiss100 hosting the evening. It was held at China White (Air Street, W1) and was one of the nicest venues Ive ever been to. 6 finalists from the competition, to find the best live vinyl bootleg remixer, mixed for 20 minutes each to impress the panel of judges which included Tall Paul among others. There were accapellas and breaks and beats and things flying about everywhere. My favourite DJ of the night was DJ Shorty, he kept it uplifting and was really getting into his music behind the decks. Always nice to see. Also a shout out to the team of two (sorry guys, didnt catch your names) that mixed up some funky house with MC Hammer before dropping a Drum & Bass mix of an Abba track!! Unfortunately I had to leave early so Im not sure who won, but as soon as I find out I will post it up. Shout out to Ford Ka as well for letting us rinse out their free bar ;) Same time next year?
