 So I switch on the radio thismorning, as I always do, and I hear that David Blunkett wants to give a minimum 5 years in prison to anyone found with illegal weapons.Which is great, because something needs to be done before this country turns into America with blacks and bullets everywhere you go.  But then the radio station plays a sound-byte from an interview where they are trying to blame the music industry for the violence! And guess whos name came up? So Solid. What bullshit. So Solid are not only producing shite middle-of-the-road music, but they are all a bunch of pussies. If the public really are affected by the music they listen to and do the same things that their idols do, then why arent there a load of 12-year old stoners listening to S Club 7? Why arent the people that listen to Will Young all homosexual? ...
I think its wrong that people who have no idea what the music industry is about slag it off and give it a bad name just because they dont understand it. Yes So Solid are shit, yes they have destroyed the entire Garage scene, but they shouldnt be made a scape-goat for a crime system that doesnt work. Trevor Nelson pointed out that if anything it actually helps stop crime, by using lyrics reflecting the way these artists grew up, it acts as a warning to others. So solid and Heartless are groups who have used anti-gun messages in their lyrics as well as the amazing Miss Dynamite. So bollocks to the goverment, and to Tony Blair (shootings have doubled since he's been in power), I like music cause it sounds good, not because I want to go and blow someones head off.
